At ECEGEN, we regularly participate in world-renowned external quality control and proficiency testing programs (EQAS) to maintain the reliability and international validity of our genetic test results. Under these programs, blind samples sent by independent bodies are analyzed in our laboratory, and our results are compared with other laboratories worldwide.
External Quality Control Programs We Participate In
Prestigious EQAS providers from which we regularly receive tests in molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS):
- CAP (College of American Pathologists): One of the most prestigious accreditation and external quality control providers worldwide in laboratory medicine and genetic diagnostics.
- EMQN (European Molecular Genetics Quality Network): A European-based quality assurance network for molecular genetic testing and NGS panels.
- GenQA (Genomics Quality Assessment): An international quality network providing proficiency testing and quality assessment for genomic and molecular genetic testing.
- RfB (Referenzinstitut für Bioanalytik) / SPMD: A Germany-based accredited provider of external quality assessment and proficiency testing for medical and molecular laboratories.
- CEQAS (Cytogenetic External Quality Assessment Service): Provides proficiency testing for chromosome analysis, FISH, and molecular cytogenetic tests.
- UK NEQAS: A UK-based independent organization that provides external quality control across all stages of medical laboratory analysis.
