The programme, organised by Bahçelievler Municipality as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 1–31 October, aimed to strengthen public awareness of women's health and early detection.

Following an awareness walk, the seminar continued at the Nurettin Topçu Cultural Centre. Prof. Dr. Deniz Böler, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ocak and Prof. Dr. Türkan Öztürk addressed early diagnosis, treatment and the role of genetic evaluation in breast cancer from their respective specialties.

Genetic Evaluation and Early Detection

Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ocak explained the clinical importance of reviewing personal and family history, planning hereditary cancer testing for appropriate patients, and interpreting results with a medical genetics specialist. Genetic testing was emphasised as one component of a broader screening or diagnostic plan that must be assessed alongside clinical findings.
